The Navy Training Corps, is a National Youth Organisation promoting adventurous activities for Junior Cadets 8-12 years of age, and Cadets 12-18 years of age.

This website needed to be clean, efficient and engaging and as a national organisation it was essential that the website reflect the morals and views of the Navy Training Corps.

This website was less about design and more about functionality. The Corps already had a logo which decided the color scheme and a simple, straight down the line layout was required.

As far as functionality goes this website packs a fairly hefty punch!

There is an admin area which contains a calendar editable only by officers and staff and a downloads section that allows staff to easily view essential documents, policies and procedures.

An easily editable photo gallery is included in the site which for an active and public involved organisation is a must.

A really nice touch in this website is the ability to search for your nearest unit by postcode. This uses Google’s API to look up the users location then queries that against a list of available units.

If you are interested in joining the Navy Training Corps or simply fancy a peek at the site go to navytrainingcorps.org.

We should like to thank Andy Charrington for producing a fine website for the Navy Training Corps. Being a national nautical youth organisation we needed a site that was both engaging yet also easy to use for our cadets. This was achieved with stunning results. We also needed the website to be used by adult staff to download documents etc and this was achieved through the secure admin page. A calender provides nationwide information for cadets and their parents as well as a reminder to staff. We highly recommend Andy to you for your website needs.
